I gatti avevano bisogno di una seconda cuccia, visto l’aumento di numero e di dimensione.
Il progetto della prima cuccia si è dimostrato valido e funzionale. Così è stato ripetuto tal quale, tranne pochi aggiustamenti nelle dimensioni dell’apertura.
Innanzitutto la base, un pavimento di multistrato da 2cm poggiato su un telaio fatto a 8, alto 3cm. Il telaio garantisce l’isolamento dal pavimento del balcone: non è stato necessario inserire gli inserti di polistirolo come avevo pensato inizialmente.
Le pareti sono spesse 1cm. e sono formate da listelli da 10cm. Sono state disposte così bene da non avere praticamente fessure. Anche qui, avevo pensato a un rivestimento interno con del sughero per garantire un maggiore isolamento, ma per ora non sembra un bisogno impellente.
Il coperchio, di multistrato alto 2cm, rimane incastrato sopra pareti grazie a un secondo telaio applicato verso la parte interna. Il coperchio così fatto si può tranquillamente alzare per pulire l’interno.
Le due cucce sono state disposte una di fronte all’altra, con le aperture rivolte verso lo spazio comune alle due. A mo’ di veranda, un tavolino di legno. Tutto l’insieme è addossato al muro. Quando piove molto forte, incastro una lastra di plexiglass tra le pareti delle cucce e le gambe del tavolino, a coprire lo spazio interno compreso tra le aperture delle cucce: i gatti possono entrare saltando sul tetto delle cucce e infilandosi nello spazio sotto il tavolino.
L’interno delle cucce è arredato con scampoli di tessuto pile. I gatti hanno gradito particolarmente!
